ABOUT MYAC
The Milwaukee Youth Arts Center is a national model of collaboration between two youth arts education organizations, First Stage and the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra. MYAC became the first facility of its kind in the nation when its doors opened in 2005 in the city of Milwaukee.
MYAC supports our partner organizations by providing needed space and high-quality facilities at a reduced rate, as well as support from the MYAC administrative staff and operations team. These arts education organizations can focus on their individual missions with the comfort and stability MYAC provides.
THE
MYAC
MISSION
The mission of MYAC is to provide the finest collaborative environment for supporting performing arts training and education for a diverse population of youth; nurturing youth from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds, instilling life skills and inspiring a lifelong appreciation for the performing arts; and serving as a resource for the entire arts and education community.
The Milwaukee Youth Arts Center (MYAC) is a destination for creativity, collaboration, and community building. Opened in 2005 and founded as an active partnership with First Stage and Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, MYAC delivers high quality spaces and inclusive experiences for young people, artists, and community leaders throughout Wisconsin. Across two buildings at the intersection of Milwaukee’s Bronzeville, Historic MLK Drive, and Schlitz Park neighborhoods – MYAC’s spaces include a studio theater, six performance and rehearsal halls, fourteen classrooms, eight small group instruction studios, and a variety of commons and community gathering spaces.
